Arun Balakrishnan, served as chairman and CEO of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and built his long standing career with Hindustan Petroleum through various positions in marketing, management, trading and human resources.

In 2007 he became chairman of Hindustan Petroleum’s joint venture with Mittal Investments, HPCL-Mittal Energy for three years where he still serves as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors. 

Arun has held a number of senior non-executive positions across a variety of high profile companies in the oil, gas, power and real estate.  The All India Management Association has awarded him with a fellowship and the Indian Institute of Engineers has presented Arun with a Scroll of Honour for recognition 'of his outstanding contribution to the profession of chemical engineering'. Arun holds a BS in chemical engineering, with a post graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore where he was awarded “The Distinguished Alumni Award”.
